Internal Medicine Center (Diabetes)

We offer holistic care and prevention of diabetes and its complications, provided by healthcare professionals with expertise in diabetes and its complications. Our integrated approach involves collaboration among specialists, including endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, nephrologists, dietitians, diabetes foot care specialists, and exercise specialists. We aim to provide accurate consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and empower patients with the knowledge to manage their condition effectively for the best possible outcomes.
Types of Diabetes
- Type 1 Diabetes: The pancreas cannot produce insulin normally due to an autoimmune attack on the beta cells in the pancreas, leading to high blood sugar levels. This type is most commonly found in children and requires insulin treatment.
- Type 2 Diabetes: The body becomes resistant to insulin and needs more insulin than usual, along with impaired insulin secretion from the pancreas. This is the most common form of diabetes, often found in adults and the elderly.
- Gestational Diabetes: Occurs during pregnancy due to hormonal changes affecting insulin function. It usually resolves after childbirth.
- Other Specific Causes of Diabetes: These include chronic pancreatitis, endocrine disorders, and other specific conditions affecting insulin regulation.
